Wendy received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2007 from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Wendy served 4 years in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1998.

Throughout her fourteen-year career as a physical therapist, Wendy has lived in mutliple states (Wendy’s husband is still on active duty in the Navy), and has worked with the adult and geriatric population in the outpatient, inpatient, and home health settings. Wendy has developed a passion for working with the geriatric population and those with neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, and Parkinson’s Disease.

Wendy became certified in PWR! Moves and LSVT BIG® for the treatment of symptoms associated with Parkinson’s Disease, and upon moving to Chesapeake, VA, started her own business, Strong and Steady Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC. Wendy is a Certified Fall Prevention Specialist and is a member of the Chesapeake Task Force on Aging. Wendy enjoys working with her patients in the comfort of their own homes to achieve their personal goals, whether it be continuing to explore the outdoors, play with grandchildren, or simply to get around their home safely.

When Wendy is not practicing physical therapy, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.
